Mourning Dove Labradors
About Us

Shortly after our first son was born, we got our first black Labrador puppy named Sam in 1987 to integrate into our budding family. She was last of her litter and an excellent companion for us. Sam lived to a ripe old age of 17 years old. In 2002 we decided we wanted to have a litter of labradors. We sought out an established, well-known, reputable breeder with outstanding, quality labradors and got to work. We became very good friends with our first breeder, Tammy Smith of "Woodland Labradors". We have maintained and valued that friendship for over 20 years.

Our goal has been to improve our line with each breeding, seeking out the best stud match available for our girls. Recently we were blessed with opportunities to get our very own stud dogs. After many years of searching through quality stud dogs, we are very happy with our boys. Each one of our boys has distinct qualities and characteristics that allows us to continue reaching our goals.

Not long ago we got started in the sport of conformation dog shows with the help of mentor Diann Sullivan of "Cedarwood Labradors". This sport includes traveling, meeting new friends with similar interests, and earning points towards our goal of championship titles for our dogs! We are extremely proud and pleased with the accomplishments our dogs have achieved thus far.

All of our puppies are whelped in our home and quickly become a part of our family. Our puppies are born and raised on our 90+ acre farm, and have the opportunity to run, play, and explore the sights and smells in our fields. We are aware of the "Rule of 7's" and apply it to our puppies. We have a 'puppy jungle' that we allow our puppies to play with while supervised, which is great for sensory stimulation and exposure to new objects, sounds, and smells.  We offer additional training, catering to individual puppy needs (Puppy Pre-School)
